High Visibility Equipment for Medium Risk Situations

The EN 17353 standard specifies the requirements for high-visibility clothing and accessories for medium-risk situations. High-visibility equipment is designed to provide the wearer with optimal visibility in both daylight and low-light conditions, such as under vehicle headlights or headlights in the dark.

High Visibility Clothing

High-visibility clothing is divided into three categories, depending on the minimum surface area of the reflective material:

Category 1:

  • Suitable for environments with full visibility
  • Vehicle speed up to 40 km/h
  • Sufficient distance between worker and traffic

Category 2:

  • For conditions requiring increased visibility
  • Suitable for adverse weather conditions
  • For work near vehicles with speeds exceeding 40 km/h

Category 3:

  • Maximum protection for workers in high-risk environments
  • For adverse weather conditions
  • For areas with vehicle traffic above 80 km/h
